The meeting requested with the members of the Aston Mills Arts community for next Thursday evening is to share information on starting a Rotary Club for the artists in our region.

The members of the Media Rotary Club would like to explore ways in which to bring our community service organization to the folks in the creative community.  The motto of all Rotary Clubs is “Service Above Self”, where we look for opportunities to find ways to help the needs of our community. 

The 7 area of our focus is Peacebuilding and Conflict prevention, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Maternal and Child Health, Basic Education and Literacy, Community Economic Development, and Environment. 
The Rotarians are ordinary folks who are looking for ways to be a part of the solution by working together with folks from their own community.  We also have the ability to work with likeminded folks from around the world with 1.2 million members in 46,000 clubs.

The effort to start a club centered around the artists is unique in its concept of wanting to create a club of folks with creative mind to meet for fellowship and find ways to do service for the community. 

During the meeting next Thursday, we can discuss the concept further in details and answer any questions from the attendees.  Thank you for your effort in organizing the meeting and looking forward to seeing you then.
